Can Rods Be Placed In Spine Surgically To Help With Back Pain Caused By Scoliosis?
Hi, I am a 42-year-old woman who was diagnosed with scoliosis as a teenager and wore a brace for a year and a half at that time. As I have been aging, I feel as though my scoliosis is getting worse. My hip seems to jut out more than it used to (it also has somewhat), and I have back pain on and off. Do you know if adults are ever re-braced or if rods placed surgically in the spine would be something that would be considered?
In the 42 yr old woman with scoliotic spine causing backpain, surgical correction and fusion will help in relieving back pain, brace treatment will not help you. i advise you to consult spine surgeon for further management.
