Can Second Dose Of DPT, OPV, HIB Vaccinations For An Infant Be Given As Painless Injections?

Hi, My son is 3 month old. His first vaccination for DTP, OPV and HIB is done previously (painfull). Now another vaccination for DTP2, OPV2, & HIB2 is pending for him. Can I go ahead with painless vaccination second time. Because in vaccination he feel pain, swelling and fever for two days. Now I want painless vaccination for him. Can please suggest and please provide name of these painless vaccination. Thanks. Regards, Arun

Hi...You can go ahead with the painless vaccines hereafter. No harm. But at the same I should also like to tell you what the recommendations say. IAP recommendations say that once a type of vaccine is started - better to complet4e the schedule with the same type of vaccine. I advise you to put Rotavirus vaccines, injectible polio vaccines and Pneumococcal vaccines also.
