Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal, MD.

Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query

That is not true. Speech is produced by the contact of the tongue with the various parts of the oral cavity. This does not need uvula at all. The uvula does not contact the tongue. In fact it is almost impossible to touch your own uvula with the tongue

Having said that, the quality of voice is definitely a function of the airway. the uvula removal may affect the quality of the voice a bit. But to the best of the information available, letters are not affected.

However, I fail to understand why tonsillectomy needs uvulectomy as well?

I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above/if any other so I can be of help further. Best of luck.

I have given you the answer to the maximum considering the information provided. The results of the tests could further enhance my answer to you.
