Can Taking Antibiotics During Pregnancy Affect The Baby?
Hi
I am just 6 weeks pregnant and my doctor has prescribed me 500mg amoxicillin capsules to treat a possible throat/chest infection (sore throat hard to swallow and coughing up green mucus in the mornings mostly).
Just checking if it is safe to take these antibiotics and that they won't harm the baby in any way?

As such, during early pregnancy, the lesser the drugs taken , the better.
Amoxicillin is relatively safe in pregnancy, so you can take it if the indication is really compelling.
COnsult your obstetrician.
It is better to document cardiac activity before starting the drugs.
