Can The Donepizel Pill Loose Its Value By Dividing Its Consumption?

My husband is taking donepizel. He is having dirreha. I divided his 10 mg pill in to two parts and gave him one at lunch and the other at night. It seemed to be getting better but today he had very loose bowles. I am wondering if dividing the pill is not recommended

Donepezil is given at night, it is because this drug has a very long half life of about 70 hours. Dividing the doses might cause extreme drowsiness during the day and lessen the cognition.
