Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I'm just wondering if a tuna fish sandwich would upset my stomach? I have had a vagotomy and antrectomy (in 2007) and still have two ulcers, as well as my stomach doesn't digest properly. I ate a burger (ground turkey and ground beef) last night that seemed to not do so well. I'm trying to think of something to eat for dinner, as I'm getting a little bit nauseated from hunger.
P.S. REALLY? $9.95 to answer a question?!?! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! That's TOO funny!!! What a JOKE this site is! I WON'T be back!
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Since you have a history of vagotomy and antrectomy in 2007 and still have 2 ulcers, anything that instigate and enhance the problems including tuna sandwich. Anything that is spicy and taste enhancer can cause the problems. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Get an upper GI endoscopy done. Tests of blood, urine and stool. Ultrasonography of abdomen to see for hepatobiliary and pancreas. Take a PPI like Omeprazole. Antacid every three hourly. Domperidone as motility regulator as Vagotomy can cause gastroparesis. Avoid all the foods and beverages that cause the symptoms. Control of stress and anxiety are the mainstay of management.
