Cause For The Bumps Through Out The Body?

I had a cut in the groin area about 3 months ago and it tore a vein. I genital area swelled twice the size. I went to a dermatologist and they said it was a allergic reaction and gave me cortizone lotion and prednisone which got rid of the swelling. I never had skin problems in my life until now and my gp and uriolgist and dermatologist have not helped. They have me on methoprednisone for inflamatory bowl disease as well as my glands are not producing enough. I am not noticing bulging veins in my hands and I am a pale person and I now look like I have a sun burn. My face is red and breaking out with small bumps on the forehead. My ears are bright red and have small bumps on them with a red patch going through the sides and back of my hair. This has now led to large red itchy bumps on my back. I also am on antibiotics cipro for a prostate and ui infection that has lasted almost three months as well. I am also fatigued daily and just feel sick. I have no idea what doctor to even see next. It almost feels like the cut that instigated the issues got something in my blood stream. I have had a lot of blood work done recently but I do not know if they tested for the right thing. Please let me know your opinion on what or where to go next. I am 43 male and have had stomache issues all my life as well since I turned 23 I have not been able to b o number 2 without an enema or laxatives. I always feel bloated. I have had two colonoscopies done and a tube down my throat and a scrotal ultrasound but the doctors find nothing. The rash is my main concern but I wanted to give you a little history. Email me with any questions and I appreciate any help you can provide. Thank You Rick

Hi,

You seem to have multiple systemic and skin problems. I would recommend you to consult physician and dermatologist and have thorough examination and investigations. And then you should be treated properly. From skin point of view, I think you may be having allergic skin disease may be contact allergic dermatitis. In the lesions there may be secondary bacterial infection which increases your trouble. I would recommend you to apply antibiotic cream initially and then it may be combined with steroid. Take a course of antibiotic, steroid in tapering dose and antihistaminics to improve the skin lesions.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilyas Patel, Dermatologist
