Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello :) About 2 months ago I have chest pains, palpitations and dizziness so I went to the GP and they recommended an ECG and Blood Tests. My chest pains were on the far left side and they were not constant, but came up at different times during the day. Anyway, my ECG results came back normal as did the blood tests. My heart pains immediately stopped and went away. I do still sometimes get slight pain there but only when I really think about it and it is very rare. My dizziness has also mostly gone. Does this mean I have no need to worry?
If not the heart, chest pains commonly occur with reflux disease. Chest pain, which occurs because stomach acid is splashing into the esophagus, is a classic acid reflux symptom. But the pain can last longer and be more intense than expected. Many people mistake heartburn for a heart attack. You can never ignore chest pain, especially if it gets worse when you exercise or exert yourself. It is good that you have got your ECG and blood tests done, results of which are normal. A medicine which reduces the amount of acid made in your stomach is a common treatment and usually works well. Some people take short courses of medication when symptoms flare up. Some people need long-term daily medication to keep symptoms away.
Hope this helps
