hello dear, thanks for your query at health care magic, malaria will have high grade fever with chills and rigors, with sweating after fever coming down. but malaria can present atypically without above mentioned symptoms some times. is diagnosis of malaria established on labarotary data or clinical diagnosis? if lab data and clinically malaria you can start child on antimalarial drugs based on sensitivity of malarial parasite to drugs in your locality. a simple blood test like blood film examination under microscope can rule out malaria. if in doubt go for that test. thank you.
