Child. Small Ball Of Painful Black Rice Like Thing At The Tip Of Penis, Which Cannot Be Taken Out. History Of Accident In Child Pull Up. Any Ideas?

My son, 3 yrs, had an accident in his pull-up. As I was changing him I noticed what I thougt was a small ball of poop on the tip of his penis where the urethra is. It wouldn't come off and he started crying saying it hurt. It's a small black spot that looks almost like a small grain of black rice stuck to him. Any ideas? I'll call the pedi In The morning.

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

As you mention that your son had an accident it is quite likely the dark coloured swelling could be the formation of hematoma following the injury. This can be painful. I suggest you give him paracetamol/acetaminophen to reduce the pain and swelling. In case the pain persists you should showm him to his pediatrician in the morning.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your son an early recovery.
