Child. Sore Throat, Headache, Stomachache, High Fever, Pain In The Neck. Strep Throat?
My 10 year old daughter woke up at 330 this morning with a sore throat, headache, stomachache and an 102 fever. Her fever keeps at a 102 and spikes to 104 within an hour after taking Motrin or Tylenol and now she is complaining that her neck hurts. Could this be symptoms of strep throat? When looking at the back of her throat there are no white pockets.
A throat swab for culture and sensitivity and blood investigations like TLC, CRP, DLC, prescribed by your doctor after physical examination will help in identifying the cause.
Antibiotics prescribed by your doctor after confirmation of diagnosis will help.
Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
Your child seems having the throat infection mostly due to a virus or bacteria.
For fever give Tylenol in prescribed dosage every 6th hourly depending on the presence of fever and you can do tepid sponging with lukewarm water if there is fever.
And physical examination by the doctor is important to look for throat infection and to suggest you investigation for streptococci to confirm it.
So consult your Pediatrician for examination and further management.

Hi, Thanks for writing to health care magic. Fever could be because of several causes. But the presence of sore throat suggests it could be because of throat infection.
