Child Failed Hearing Test, Ear Drums Look Incomplete. What Is Wrong?
lately my son is 5 years old and has not been able to hear very well. I asked his teacher if they could give him a hearing test . the did and he failed it. in his left ear he is not able to hear anything and in his right ear the put 25/2000.. the nurse also said she looked in his ears and that she only saw half his ear drums and the other half looked like a dark hole..
Do not be apprehensive, please consult a good ENT specialist for a complete ear evaluation. There can be blockage of the canal secondary to the impacted wax. Ear drum can be perforated; But, this is not commonly noticed in the young children. Finally, the chances of fluid in the ear drum cannot be ruled out.
Wish you good health.
