Child Had Headache, Warm To Touch, Pain In Head. Given Paracetamol. Help
My 3 year old grandson started complaining of a headache last night after his bath. I noticed he was a little warm to the touch. I looked up headaches and fever and it said to give paracetamol .He woke this morning still complaining of his headache, when asked to show where he felt thd pain he pat the top of his head. This is causing me great concern.I didn t know (small) children could get headaches......PLEASE HELP!!!!
Hi welcome to HCM
Small children can get headache, but dont get panic.
He is having fever , which can cause mild headache, continue with paracetamol and wait for 2 days.
Also look for vision like watching TV very closely, as myopia is quote common in children now a days, which is also a common cause of headache.
Thanking you.
Hello there,
You have mentioned that your child was warm to touch but was there any fever ? It is not advisable to give medication without any rationale. A 3 year old can to a some extent register his complaints but they can be quite vague at the same time. Provided your child had a good sleep and woke up fresh, there is nothing to worry about. However if there is persistent uneasiness in your child or indeed fever, do get him checked up once.
Take care.
hello,
welcome to hcm
thanks for the query
is he having vomiting along with it?
if not then fine.paracetamol will help but you have to find the cause. it may be viral one.do a simple blood test(cbc).also he needs examination of sinuses.
he may need antibiotic depending on the blood report
hope this information will be helpful to you
take care
