Child Has A Lump In The Left Temple After Falling On The Floor, Persists Even After 3 Days. Should We See A Doctor?
Hi, my 3 year old son fell and hit his head on the ceramic floor three weeks ago. He had a very large lump to the left of his right temple. We monitored his behavior and sleeping for 48 hours afterwards and everything was good. My question is, is it normal that he still has a large lump on his head 3 weeks after the fact? Should he see a pediatrician?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Ramakant's Response
Dear customer,
The lump can be haematoma and may require surgical evacuation in some cases. He should also have the ct scan /x-ray of brain done to rule out any fracture and should be consulted with a neurologist/neurosurgeon.
The treatment is according to underlying cause.
Thank you
