Child Has Bump On Forehead. No Headache Or Nausea. Taken Tylenol. Should I Worry?
My 13 yr old daughter came to me tonight and showed me a bump on her forehead the size of a quarter. I asked her if she banged it or if she remembered getting a bug bite or anything she said no, not that she knew. She said "I just took out the trash and came in side, and watched my shows". Upon further investigation I found a wasp nest, and a spider web near the trash. I thought maybe she had been stung without knowing really. I gave her some Tylenol, and an ice pack, she has no headache or nausea. Three hours later the spot was not as raised or hard but had spread about an 1 inch and is soft to the touch swollen, and doesn't hurt. I gave her some benedryl and a new ice pack. It's not at all hot and stung a little when I wiped it with an alcohol pad she appears to be in no pain just has a swollen bump in the middle of her forehead. Is there anything I should worry about or do?

It is unlikely that a wasp or spider would have stung her without her knowing it so I would not worry about that. More likely some flying insect (mosquito, gnat, etc) bit her and the bump and subsequent spread are just the local allergic reaction. This is nothing to worry about.

3. Tightness in the throat
4. Nausea, abdominal pain, or vomiting
5. Anxiety or dizziness
6. Fast heartbeat or pulse
7. Loss of consciousness
Your child do not have any of serious reaction. So nothing to worry.
Please add antihistamines with tylenol.
