Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My baby (22 months old and 11 kg weight) is having fever from last 2 days around 100 Deg F but today since morning she is having fever around 101-103. In morning she was having temp 103. Will it be good to give her Meftal. I have taken her to Dr and has said that she is having Viral and has suggested to give Meftal if fever is high. Should we give her Meftal? Will it cause to take the temp down?
Hello and welcome to HCM
Yes meftal a good antipyretic drug to be used in pediatrics. It help in reducing the fever very effectively. In addition to this if fever does't go down than you can also use Paracetamol syrup and cold sponging.
This will help you to reduce the temperature. Keep your baby warm and protect him from changing climate and change his wet clothes regularly.
In my opinion if fever still persist for another day than give him a course of antibiotic by consulting your doctor.
Best Wishes
