Child Has Low Appetite Since A Week, Stools Are Pale Yellow, Has Light Cold An Cough. Any Tests Required?
Hello, my nearly 2 year old son has been eating very little for past 3-4 days. his stool colour has changed from the usual dark to a pale yellow. there seem to be no other symptoms, i do not see any yellow discolouration of eyes and skin. he is also active as usual. He has had cold and little cough for the last couple of weeks but is recovering now. do i need to consult a doctor/ get some tests done? thank you very much!
From what you say child had cold and cough from which he is recovering.
His activity is good.
His reduced appetite may be because of the cold and cough he has.
Stool color may be non specific.
You may wait for a couple of days since there are no major symptoms at present.
Offer him food items he likes. Divert his attention and offer him food items. Give him lot of plain water and juices if he likes.
If food intake continues to remain poor or he develops poor activity, fever, vomiting etc, please do not hesitate to contact your pediatrician.
And hope you have given him all vaccines as recommended.
Hope my answer helps you.
