Child Has Raised Follicles On Body, Low Grade Fever, Strep Negative. Cause?
My 2 year old has raised follicles all over th body with low grade fever what could be the causes. The rash initially started at the back of the neck and around the neck and spread t the bad and then to the abdomens and chst area and and all over the upper arm including arm pits not the groins. what could be the cause of this. The rapid strep was negative.
Hello
Thanks for the query
As per your description it seems your child has measles rash. These rashes appear generally on fourth day of fever and spread in same manner as you have mentioned. Major concern of most of the parents usually is that whether it can happen even after vaccination. Answer is yes but the condition in vaccinated individual is less severe. Strep test is for scarlet fever. In scarlet fever there is high grade temp and child will be more toxic. These rashes may be also due to some other uncommon viral infection. In most of the cases it subsides gradually. You should be watchful for respiratory difficulty, loose motion, altered behaviour as this may occur as complications of viral infections. Give antipyratic, do tepid sponging and maintain nutrition of the baby.
I hope this answers your query well
