Child Has Silent Reflux. On Infant Gaviscon. Cries In Intense Pain At Times. Soles Red In Color. Suggestions?

My 13 wk old baby (a very happy content baby) had an absolute crying frenzy this morning (this has happened on 3 occasions - all when sunny), she was screaming in what seemed to be pain, after some time of consoling her she fell asleep in my arms. I lay her on out bed & noticed she was quite pale but the soles of her feet had gone a very dark reddish colour? She suffers from silent reflux but is on. Infant Gaviscon. She rarely cries at least not for long but this third out burst is crazy! Any advice would be welcome!

hi ! there is only one known side effect of giving gaviscon i.e. gastric distention. and whenever gastric distention occurs it causes colicky pain in children . symptoms of a colicky pain are pretty similar to what your kid experienced and is pretty harmless. you can try giving colic drops if it happens again & if it persists you can also give lanazol junior after consultation with your pediatrician as it may also help in her reflux. take care.
