Child Have Severe Fever. Have Been Giving Infant Advil And Infant Tylenol. Is It To Be Worried?

My baby is 11 months old. Last night she came down with 102 fever, loss of appetite, green creamy bowel movement, and very fussy. I thought for sure it was teething (even though I can't feel/see any) and I gave her some infant Advil. She woke up several times throughout the night - at 2 am I gave her more Advil for a 101.9 fever. Today she has not had a normal appetite and this evening she had a 101.8 fever. Her chin appears to have some acne (don't know if it is related just providing all the information) and although her core was really hot, her hands were cold after I gave her a luke-warm bath this evening. I gave her some infant Tylenol and put her to bed. Should I be worried?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

It seems your child is suffering from a viral illness mostly of gastroenteritis as there was an altered stool.

I advise you to continue Tylenol in prescribed dose every 6th hourly depending on the presence of fever.

If there is high grade fever you can do tepid sponging with lukewarm water.

Consult the pediatrician as early as possible for the physical examination of the child and for specific treatment.

Monitor and maintain the hydration of the child.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
