Child Having Choking Feeling In Throat With Pain, Ringing In Ears With Mild Hearing Loss. What Is The Cause?
Hello Welcome in H.C.M. I have gone through your query regarding choaking feeling in throat with pain, ringing in ears with mild hearing loss. Here I would like to say that all above symptoms are of acute adenotonsilitis, this is common in children. The enlarged tonsils gives the feeling of choaking in throat and enlarged adenoids blocks the opening of eustachian tube leading to ear blockade and loss of hearing. But your doctor had not reported for tonsillar hypertrophy so other possibilitie are- 1-Allergic pharyngitis. (Angionurotic oedema) 2- Acute URTI with eustachian tube dysfunction. Above possibilities may be confirmed by thorough examination by ENT doctor and these basic investigations- a- Impedance audiometry. b- Culture and sensitivity of throat swab. 3- Sputum for gram s staining. In this way diagnosis may be finalized and accordingly treatment may be planed. Regards.
