Hi,

Banocide is diethyl carbamazine. It is useful in filariasis. Filariasis is detected by using the eosinophil count. If the eosinophil count is raised, this most of the time means that the filaria are still present in blood. Thus, the tablet is continued to prevent the person from getting or to try to eradicate the disease. There are however other causes for eosinophilia as well like asthma. So if he checked all the symptoms and then decided it was filaria then that is good. If not then get her checked for those as well.
