Child Suffering From Febrile Convulsions. High Fever. Given Antibiotics, Injections And Suppositories. Are These Safe?
My daughter Zaara is ill. She is now 1 ½ year old. Last week Saturday 11/05/2013 in evening she fell down while drinking milk and there was no respond from her, after that she raised her eyes and little bit salaiva came out and her lips changed to blue and shivering. Doctor said its febrile convulsion. It was upto ten to fifteen mins and she was normal but fever was there.((She had got febrile convulsion before 7 months when she was 10 months old and here it was winter season temp in minus degree) ). She had high fever upto 102degree F. Doctor put her on Antibiotic injection. Triaxone (ceftriaxone 0.5g I.M) 1 vial + a solvent ampoule. 2times daily (total 5 injection ) and also they give Parol 120mg/5 ml oral suspension (3 times).
After 3 days Still fever dint subside and again 1 injection daily ( 5 days)they prescribed. As fever dint subside we took blood test, urine test and chest xray. Attached copy of report for your reference. Chest x-ray: Normal Normal Cardiac size Normal both Hilae. No parenchymal lung lesion No pleural effusion. No bony lesion.
But now she has fever only in evening to morning around 101 degree F to 103 degree F. if I give Antipyrol Suppositories the fever will come down within 2 hrs with sweating. But doctor prescribed same injection for other 5 days daily. Please I need your advice. Should I take these antibiotics for 5 days. This will not be harmfull ? Tired of giving injections and suppositories. If give medicine fever come down or else same … she will have fever.
Hello, Be sure that any doctor treating you for any condition knows that you have epilepsy and knows what medicines you are taking, if any. Wear a medical identification bracelet . In the event of a seizure or accident that leaves you unconscious or unable to speak for yourself, a medical ID bracelet will let those who are treating you know that you have epilepsy. It will also list any medicines you are taking to control your seizures so that you are not given any medicines that will react badly with those already in your body. Regards.
