Child Twisted Foot, Pain When Bearing Weight, Swelling. X-ray Shows Broken Bone. Placed In Boot. Next Step?

My daughter twisted her foot today. She is ten. No prior injuries. She feels pain when weight bearing. Swelling but ice has helped. Took her to ER to have X ray and was told it was broken. I am uncertain of where or what part of foot but her swelling is near the baby toe going back towards aide and top of foot. They put her in boot and said to call ortho on Monday. Now what?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
From you description it seems that the fracture is either in one of phalenges or the fifth metatarsal bone.
They have done the right treatment.
Ortho consultation will clear all your doubts.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose
