Child With A Wound On The Back. FNAC Suggested. Worried
Hello doctor, My daughter is 4 years now. she has small wound kind of thing in the left side of neck. during 3 year she got it during cold and cough. Now it appears some times when you look normally and doesn't most of the times. she doesnt have any pain no other symptoms also. When i showed to doctor he asked me to do FNAC test. As i am worried doing this for my child i didnt do it as i thought to consult other doctors. please suggest.
It seems, dear user, that this is a gland - a lymph gland - which is entirely normal to be seen in toddlers because they get it from their throat infections. I would not go for an invasive test like FNAC unless she has severe pain, she is losing weight, she has high fever or she isn't looking well.
Leave it alone. If my guess is correct and if this is indeed a lymph gland, it will reduce in size by the time she reaches adolescence, then it might disappear totally.
