Child With Bleeding In The Mouth, Bump On The Forehead. Pain In The Back Of The Head. Need To Be Checked?
My daughter hit her forehead and face on the edge if a bench. Her mouth bled and she has a nasty bump on the front.. This happened last night. I remember telling my husband it feels kinda mushy. But never thought about it again cause we were concerned with her mouth. Today she is complaining that the back of her heads hurts to the touch. When I brushed and washed her hair she complained. Is this something I should be concerned about. There is no bump on the back. I saw her hit her front.
Hi,
Thank you for your query,
Due to head injury she developed a contusion on forehead due to accumulation of blood in scalp layers.
Just look in to mouth for any injury inside like laceration or cuts and any loosening of tooth or tooth mobility.
There may be hit to back of the head also as she is complaining of tenderness.
Observe for abnormal signs like vomitings, abnormal sensorium, bleeding form nose or ear and if you find any report to emergency immediately.
You can give Tylenol in prescribed dose for pain relief.
Consult your Pediatrician to assess her injury and neurologic status and dentist referral if it is required.
Hope I have answered your query.
