Child With Fever. Gave Paracetamol. Any Other Medication?
Dear Doctor, My son is 13 months old and from today morning he is having temperature around 101 F. I have given him 3 doses of Paracetamol drop 2.5 ml for each dose. But temperature is coming down only for about 1 hr or so and is again coming back. Could you please recommend any other medication . Thanks a lot for your help.

good evening, usually paracetamol drops for a 13 month child weighing around 9.5 kilos to 10 kilos will be around 2 ml, apart from this to reduce fever instantly you will have to give him a warm water sponge bath evry 5 to 6 hrs once, for further effective medications to reduce fever leki mefanamic acid syrup it ll be better if examined by a pediatrician and prescribed.

For fever paracetamol in prescribed dosage is enough. But what is the cause of fever should be looked in to. Are there cold and cough or throat congestion or frequency of urination or any rash? These will decide to start other medication like antibiotic or other drugs. So consult your Pediatrician to look into these issues and he will recommend the specific medication depending on your child condition.

paracetamol only give temporary relief from fever there must be some underlying cause which need to be treated
you did,t mention any other symptom as well as activity of child.if baby is active, passing stool and urine normally without any major respiratory complain then dont panic, if answer of any of above symptom is yes get back to your doctor for proper evaluation.
