Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my son (1.4 yrs) stool analysis shows pus cells 3-4 hpf RBCs 2-3 hpf others Motile Bacterial Seen and Vegetables Cells Fibers Present Fiber what does it mean. His stomach is upset. We consulted a doctor and was suggested to go for stool test . We got the stool test done and following is the result which is highlighted: Pus cells: 3 - 4/hpf RBCs: 2 - 3/hpf Others: Motile Bacterial Seen (+++) Vegetables Cells & Fibers: I want to know what is the infection. What could be given to the baby to get the results to normal? The consulted doctor prescribed the following: Nutrolite-B Drops 2.5ml twice daily for 5 day.
3-4 pus cells are significant in stool and you should put him on antibiotics like Ofloxacin. Even 2-3 RBCs/hpf are significant and should be controlled with control of infection only. Rest, vegetable cells and fibres too should settle if you give her curd, etc in diet along with less of milk. Good luck.
Hello
Thanks for the query
Don't run behind stool reports, because all this can be present even in a healthy individual. If his bowel pattern is normal then this report doesn't suggests any infection. Some bacteria are normal habitats of our intestine and they are important for digestion and production of some vitamins.
So I would suggest you to follow the advice of your doc if there is no other problem. But if still there is stomach upset Then give him O2/ Ofal-M syp. 7.5 ml twice daily for 5 days.
I hope this answers your query well
Wish you and your family good health
With regards
Hello and thanks for query
Your child stool examination report indicates bacterial infection in it. If you want to know the specific organism causing this infection than do stool culture examination by consulting your doctor. This will also give you the idea of effective antibiotic to be used.
I don't know weather you are taking antibiotic or not. Please consult you doctor and start a course of antibiotic.
Other give you child a healthy and high fiber diet and plenty of water.
Hope this will help you.
Best Wishes
