Child's Weight Gradually Reducing After Giving Solid Food. Suggestion?
Hello Doctor! ! am Pragati. My baby is 1yr old. at birth she was 2.5kg but now she is only 7.25kg. i breastfeed her. Till she was on BM she was in appropriate weight but as i introduced solid, her weight gradually reduced. she enjoys food. what to do, please suggest. as well as please tell me whether i should give her cerelac or Nestum.waiting for ur reply. thanking you.

If your child doesn't have any other health problems, nothing to worry.
The infants weight trebles his birth weight by the age of 1 year.
In the initial months of 1 year the weight gain of infant is 20 to 30 grams per day and it decrease to 10 to 15 grams per day.
This may the cause in his low weight gain.
Nothing to worry as he loves his food.
After 1 year you can give the diet which is being cooked for your family but it should be soft and little bit mashed.
You can add some ghee or edible oil to his diet to make it more calorie dense and to increase his weight gain.
You can give any one of the appropriate stage of the complimentary feeds you mentioned. Both are good.
