Circumcision Operation, White Coating On Penis Head. Infection? Healing Time?

Hi doctor!
I underwent a circumcision operation on 11th April (approx. 9 days ago) . I noticed a white 'coating' on the penis head today when I woke up in the morning today (it wasn't there all these days) ? What could it be..some kind of infection? Also, on an average when do the stitches(dissolvable) fall out and when I can resume intercourse again?
Thanks a lot.

Hi,
circumcision is done for various indications. Your prepuce skin will not be removed totally. It is removed little less so that some excessive skin will be there in the shaft - this to facilitate skin adjustment during erection. Normally there will a secretary collection under the prepuce skin - called as smegma, which is the accumulation of sebum combined with dead skin cells. This gives bad odor if the cleaning is not done properly by retracting the fore skin. By doing circumcision the cleaning becomes easy during your daily wash. The coating you are mentioning is only the collection of smegma which was not removed due to post operative period. It will easily peel off and go away by doing careful wash. As they have applied sutures which need not be removed, it will fall off once you start washing that area (preferaly) from the 7th P.O day.
Even though you are fit to perform intercourse from the 10th P.O. day it is better to postpone it to the 21st P.O. day to avoid erection complication and follow up discomfort.
Best wishes
