Hi friend
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Probably it was a virus infection to start with. At times, the inflammation of throat from that takes longer to heal. In another week, it will heal.
Rarely, an allergy may follow
There may be post nasal discharge - causing continued irritation.
If you do not improve in a week, you have to consult ENT (Ear Nose Throat) doctor.

Take care
Wishing you speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
