hello i had an mri scan last year which showed L4/5 disc dehydration there narrowing of the central canal due to facet joint hypertropy and mild disc protrusions into the latera recesses causing irritation of the exiting L4 nerve root bilaterally further disc dehydration is demonstrated at L5/s1 i have been off work with this for over a year soon as i do things the pain comes back i also have constant purring feeling in both my legs and feet and bottom and buttock i feel a grating feeling in my lower back and left buttock when i bend my neck
You serm to be having typical symptoms of radiculopathy caused by nerve root cmpression which in your case is quite evident on MRI.
The sequence for treatment in disc protrusion is firstly conservative with the help of medicines and back exercises. If this does not relief pain then doctor might go for local epidural steroid injection in your back. The last treatment resort , if all this fails is surgery, which frankly in your case is not required as there seems to be only a disc protrusion.
As for now in your case I would suggest a local epidural steroid injection by an expert. Medication would include nucoxia-MR , Pregablin, complamina , short term steroid course.
Just be cautious that there should be no sensation loss as this would mean that permanent nerve degeneration is taking place.
I hope my suggestion is of help. Good luck.
