Could Body Numbness While Drinking Be Due To Change Of Birth Control Pills?

I am a 22 year old female and weigh about 160 pounds. I was drinking last night and my whole body went numb and I couldn't feel anything. I have drank before and never felt like this. I have asthma and am on the birth control pill but was recently switched to a new one, could that cause this effect?

Hello,

Contraceptive pill can cause mood swings, depression, migraines and heightened emotions but not numbness. Alcohol can be toxic to nerve tissue. You are suggested to cut on alcohol intake. People who drink too much may start to feel pain and tingling in their limbs. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a Neurologist.

Get Nerve conduction velocity tests, nerve biopsy, imaging tests, etc., done. You will be treated accordingly. In the meantime, take food rich in vitamin B6, B12, etc., as it good for the nerves. You can also take supplements.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
