Could Depression Be Caused By Stopping Thyroid Medicine?

Yes please, my husband was on a thyroid medicine and he just stopped taking it about 2 monthes ago, now he is in a depression, he lost 20 lbs, he is sad then happy, he is hard to get along with, he gets hot flashes. does nay of this have to do with him abruptly stopping his meds? PLEASE HELP

I think, he is in depression due to hypothyroidism. Sometime, due to decrease in thyroid level, patient gets depressive symptoms. Same thing is happening in his case. In that case, his thyroid medicine should be restarted. He would improve with thyroid drug.
