Could Early Menstruation Be Due To Levonelle?

Hello, I took Levonelle (never taken it before) 8 days ago and about 3 days ago I started bleeding very lightly, and it lasted for about two days. Today it got a lot stronger and it seems that I got my period about a week earlier than when I was supposed to.
Is this a side effect of the pill or should I consult a GP immediately?
