Could Hematuria Be Due To Warfarin With Other Medications?

I am on warfarin, sotolol, lisinopril and amlodipine. Twice I have found blood on my tissue after urination. My family doctor did a urine test and said it was nothing. This morning it was several really red spots on tissue. Could this be from medication? I had drug cardioversion done in June. Heart is in rhymn but I still don t feel good.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Warfarin is an anticoagulant drug and it can cause mucosal bleeding if prothrombin time increased.

So when you put on Warfarin, prothrombin time with INR should be checked.

So kindly investigate with PT with INR for further workup.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
