Could I Be Having Slight Withdrawals With Restlessness When On Norco?

I seen my dr. yesterday & she took me off the butrane patch because I felt I was having side effects from it. I've been on the patch for 5 months. I'm only taking norco at this time. I feel restless, can't be still. My dr said that as long as I was getting my other pain med that I shouldn't have any problems with withdrawals. Could I be having slight withdrawals?

Hi,

Yes, you can be having withdrawal from stopping Butrans patch if you are on the same dose of Norco as before. Since your body was used to a certain amount of Norco and Butrans, if one of these is stopped suddenly, the other alone in the same dose as previously is not sufficient to do what the two drugs were doing together. So it is quite logical to expect that you will have withdrawal symptoms. You can discuss with your doctor if an increase in the dose of Norco is possible to help you overcome the discomfort.

Best wishes.
