Could Inflamed Legs Be Side Effect Of Medications Or SLE?

My husband has been taking dabigatran, bisoprolol ,perindopril & frusemide, for heart problem. The frusemide was added to his medication in March this year. The question is that since taking all this medication he developed an inflamed left foot, that has eventually got better following a steroid injection 5 wks ago. No sooner had that foot got better & the other foot was affected. Could any of these drugs cause this? Is it SLE? The Jill

Welcome to HCM!
Thanks for posting this question here.
I really appreciate your concern towards your husband's illness in particular the safety profile of some the drugs prescribed for him.
By the way which part of foot is affected? Toes or heel?

There is a possibility of Furosemide being responsible for the development of inflamed left foot (most commonly the great toe). This is due to increased level of uric acid which is caused by Furosemide. Apparently Furosemide has been prescribed to treat the oedema caused by heart failure.

Dabigatran is used to keep the blood thinner, Bisoprolol and Perindopril are used to treat heart failure, hypertension, etc.

These drugs are less likely to cause the inflammation of the joints.
I hope your doubts have been clarified.
Wishing your husband a best of health.
