Could Menopause Occur Without Being Symptomatic?

I have been taking Noriday as a form of contraception for 16 years and not had a period in this time. I am diabetic and my consultant has checked by bloods and says I am post menopausal. Could I have gone through the menopause without being symptomatic. I am 47. thank you.
