Could Pressure, Pain In Chest Be Due To Lung Cancer?

Hi . My husband for about a month now has been complaining about pressure in his chest and pain. He is a smoker and also has an abdominal aortic aneurysm, last time checked about 2 years was at 3.5. He refuses to see a doctor . I think he may be afraid. He is 60 now. Could it be lung cancer?

Hello

Chest pain need proper evaluation.It is too early to conclude cancer.He should consult internal medicine specialist.
It may be due to many reasons like cardiac,pulmonary,vascular reasons,acid reflux,musculoskeletal reasons etc.
He need clinical correlation and investigations.Investigations include routine hemogram,random blood sugar,renal function test,liver function test,lipid profile,ECG in all leads,chest X-ray(PA view).ECHO can be done if needed.

Contrast CT scan of thorax can be done if needed.It will rule out any aneurysm.

Proper treatment depend upon findings.
