Could Soreness & Pain Behind Ears Suggest Lumps?

Hello, I am a 56 year old woman with a pain in the right side of my neck. The doctor does not feel a lump but I do. The curve behind my ear is sometimes sore too. It has been sore for 5 months now. Ibuprofen helps. My doctor just sent me for c spine X-rays. I have not had the official results yet, but I saw the radiologists pointing to the xray and murmuring. Do you have any idea what it could be?Many thanks.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello mam,
By your history it looks like you are having cervical spodylitis, which in early stages responds well to painkillers, that is the reason your doctor has asked for cervical spine x ray, in this condition pain radiates behind ear. My suggestion for you is to have patience till your x ray result comes, if it is cervical spondylosis, go ahead with the treatment suggested by your doctor, take care.
