Could Swelling Of Ankles And Feet Be Related To Taking Metoprolol For High BP And Migraines?

Hello, My name is April J Fauque and I have been diagnosed with RA. 2 weeks ago I had to start taking 50mg 1 a day of Metoprolol ER for high blood pressure and since I started taking them they have taken away my migraines but now my feet and ankles have been swollen since I started taking them. Do you think it is my RA? Or do these pills have something to do with it? I also take 20mg of Prozac and 25mg of Imipram HCL... Thank you and hopefully you will have a better idea what s going on...

Rheumatologist 's  Response
No, metoprolol not causing swelling of feet. I think it may be due to flare of RA. You need to see your rheumatologist to examine it and advise accordingly
