Could The Mirapex Taken For Restlessness Cause Dementia When Taken For Long Periods?
I have been on Mirapex for many years as my feet have restlessness. Mirapex works wonders, but this week I was told by a nurse and our medicine doctor at our local hospital that Mirapex causes dementia. No one has ever told me. They said Mirapex is the only medicine for my feet. I am so confused: a) no one all these years told me about dementia; b) is it true that there is no other pill that won t harm me?

The first thing I'd like to tell you that when a doctor prescribes you any drug,he or she always weighs it's benefits against the harm it may cause.Every medicine has it's side effects but it is not necessary that you will have all the side effects.
This is true that mirapex may cause memory problems among several other side effects. But it is unlikely that you are going to experience all the side effects. You have been taking mirapex for so many years but now you want to stop it but you should first talk to your doctor who may prescribe you another medicine.
