Could The Irregular Periods With Spotting Be The Symptoms Of Menopause?
I am currently in between doctors as my GP has retired. I am 49 yrs old and have always had very regular periods until this month. (ie. almost every 25 days exactly). This month my period ended (I thought) and then 3 days later a light and spotty period started again and has been off and on for a week now (just when I think it s done there will be more ...). I know that menopause can bring irregular periods so I think that this is probably within the realm of normal but I m just wanting to make sure. I m probably overdue for a PAP (cf. no doctor right now....not keen on seeing just anybody for this). What are you thoughts?
Most of the females experience irregular periods toward the end of their reproductive life.
However, it is better to consult a gynecologist and get an ultrasound to rule out possible causes like uterine cancer as it might present with similar symptoms.
