Could The Miscarriage Remnants Have Completely Emptied?

Hi, I had a miscarriage the first of may.. My doctor suggested d n c or misoprostol. Me not liking the idea of surgery took the tablets instead. They gave me some cramping and I passed a large blood clot. I ve been spotting off and on now since then. Over the last week, I ve had dark brownish red discharge and than yesterday I passed a clot that was white and greyish and firm. Last night I passed a clot that was dark red and firm. I assumed everything had passed after I took the misoprostol. My doctor never had a follow up check. After passing those clots yesterday I ve had a headache and abdominal pain around my belly button and lower. I had miscarried the baby at 9 weeks and found out at 13 and a half i think. Could I have passed everything?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
According to your history, the products of conception were removed medically at 13 weeks.
Medical termination is usually recommended for early pregnancy.
At 13 weeks medical termination is not recommended since it may not remove the products of conception completely.
I suggest you to consult your gynecologist to look whether the products of conceptions are completely removed or not.
This is necessary since products if retained can cause bleeding or infection.
The abdominal pain can be due to cramping sensation in the uterus.
Headache does not seem to be related to the whole process.
An ultrasonography of the pelvis will help to know whether all products are removed or not.
In case anything is left, it can removed under anaesthesia.

Thanks and take care
