Cramp Below Navel. Occasional Diarrhoea. Relieves With Antiospasmodics. What Could It Be?
I have a cramp in my lower left side, below the navel that waxes and wanes, and goes on for weeks at a time. Sometimes it is sharp, but usually is dull. I only get occasional diarea. I m not constipated. I m taking an antispasmodic ,which seems to help. It does seem to be effected by food, especially certain types. Not sure what it could be.
In my opinion the pain is due to transient intestinal obstruction. You need to get a physical examination done during the attack to confirm the diagnosis. An ultrasound examination during attack would also be useful.
I would advise my patients a high fibre diet to reduce the frequency of attacks.
Hope I have clarified some of your concerns. Please revert for further queries.
