Deformity In Pinky Finger, Twitching. What Is The Cause?
Hello I am 27 year old male. My question is my left pinky finger has a deformity where i can not bend the tip of the finger and make a closed fist. I have twitches in that same finger sometimes the twitches are continues for a long while until my finger locks up and i have to try and move it to unlock. My question is what are the causes of the twitches and how can they be stopped. Thank you
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM. From the given description, I am of the opinion that you have "TRIGGER FINGER" which typically presents with deformity and locking episodes. This condition is commonly seen in Rheumatoid arthritis and Diabetics. In early stages, this can be cured by local injection of corticosteroid. If there is no response, a surgical release may be needed. Hope this helps
