Depression, Nerve Damage, Ankle Injury. Taking Cymbalta. Expect Side Effects?
Hi - My husband is currently taking Cymbalta and has been for a couple of years now. It is for depression and nerve damage from an ankle injury in 2008. (chronic pain). He has been experiencing humming in his left ear for several months now and noticed it happening when his pain management doctor increased his dosage. Is there something you could recommend that would be effective without this side effect??
Cymbalta (duloxetine) as any other medication comes with its own side effects and these SE can either come as dose initiation (which of course is ruled out since your husband has been using for 2 years), dose increase (that maybe his case) and abrupt discontinuation of treatment. Your husband is experiencing what is known as tinnitus and I believe it might be as a result of dose increase. You might have to discuss this with his doctor before taking any actions.
Hope this helps
