Dermoid Cyst Removed From Above Her Eye. On Antibiotics. But The Lump Remains Same, Site Was Slightly Red . Any Infection?

My 7 month old had a dermoid cyst removed from above her eye 2 weeks ago. at the one week appt she was put on antibiotics due to a large lump beneath the incision and the site was slightly red. Even after antibiotics the lump remains. Is this still an infection that might be encapsulated? If so what is usally done for this?

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

Swelling beneath the incision site could be a pus collection, if so that neeeds to be drained out. After antibiotic treatment pus may become encapsulated resulting in antibioma. Consult your doctor for examination of swelling. USG may required to know content of swelling.

Hope this helps you.

Regards
