Diabetic, developed Ulcer On Left Ankle, Gel Substance Forming In Wound. Should I Be Worried?
Hello, I am an insulin depend Diabetic and have developed an ulcer on my left ankle due to a dislocated bone. The doctors want to operate to fuse the bone(s) back in place but will not until the ulcer has healed up. When I change my dressing I see a clear like gel substance forming in the wound. Should I be worried about this or is it part of the healing process?
Hi ,Welcome to Healthcare magic .Thanks for the query.
You should go for your blood sugar test to get the sugar level diagnosed and the healing process of the ulcer might be getting slower due to raised sugar level and there are chances for developing diebetic foot if it is left ignored or untreated.
Thanks,
Dr Shilpi
